If you have a recommendation for Canopy, please create that discussion in the Ideation category. We will be able to give better feedback with status changes and comments regarding the decisions made. It will also allow individuals to actually "upvote" the ideas they like.

It would be incredibly helpful there to be a status bar on the client portal side so that they can see where there return is at in the completion process. This may lower the amount of calls that occur from clients checking in on the status of their return. It could be connected to a 1040 task list on the user side.

    Hi @ealmeter, thanks again for your suggestion. Right now, we do not have plans to implement this feature, but that could change if we hear more feedback along the same lines. Could you elaborate on whether you mean to manually update the status bar as the practitioner? Or are you thinking of an auto-update capability in part with the IRS?

    A manual update on the practitioner side. I.E. we could mark them as 1.) Documents Received, 2.) Documents in Review, 3.) In Prep, 4.) In Review, 5.) Ready for Signatures, 6.) Completed & Transmitted.

    Thank you for the clarification. We love the idea; and although, it isn’t on our short term roadmap (through 2021), we are adding it to the backlog for future implementation.

    Our clients would also love this. We would love to see this as our clients have requested some insight as to their 'place in line' if you will. Can't figure out a third party app that would integrate. I can't imagine this is an uncommon request.
