Allow document sharing by non-contacts

Joelle_T Posts: 12 ✭✭✭

Other portals allow individuals who are not contacts to send documents just by clicking on a link to the portal. This was a great benefit when we used Sharefile as clients' attorney, former accountant, etc. could send us sensitive documents without having to be set up as a contact and we could send docs out the same way. We have a link in our email signature for just this reason, but it only works for current contacts.

This would be nice to have. When one of my clients asks me to send their tax return to their banker, it would be great to have a way for the banker to access the document I put in the contacts file.

Yes, I was trying to invite the IRS agent during an audit to Canopy but the IRS blocked one or more 3rd party links of Canopy's invitation system. It would be nice to make Canopy IRS compliant so I can easily invite IRS agents where IRS can use Canopy on their government-issued systems.

In addition to this implementation, I also need a expiration date and time to revoke access for such non-contact users.

  • We so often need to send copies of documents to banks, insurance auditors, attorneys, and others....if we could have some way to give them a time limited access to specific documents....that would save us having to download and move to another secure portal for them to access those documents.
